Title:AI in Research, Boundless Innovation—How Large AI Models Empower the Entire Research Process
Speaker:Yun Xue, Professor (South China Normal University)
Time:14:30-15:30, May. 28, 2026
Location:Huixing Building Room514, Yuehai Campus
Abstract:With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, particularly large language models (LLMs), AI technology is profoundly reshaping the paradigms and efficiency of scientific research. This lecture aims to explore how to deeply integrate cutting-edge AI tools into every stage of the daily research workflow to overcome traditional efficiency bottlenecks. The lecture will systematically demonstrate practical AI applications throughout the entire research lifecycle, with key topics including: using AI to quickly generate mind maps and academic PowerPoint presentations to improve logical organization; using AI assistants to efficiently conduct in-depth reading of vast amounts of academic papers, extract key information, and prepare literature reviews. Additionally, the presentation will explore the efficient application of AI in code assistance, algorithm implementation, and debugging, as well as share practical tips for AI-assisted academic writing, such as paper polishing, plagiarism reduction, and language standardization. Notably, this session will also provide a hands-on guide to building customized automated workflows using the Coze platform, empowering students to design personalized AI agents tailored to their specific research needs. Through this exchange, we hope to help students cultivate an “AI-empowered” research mindset and master a suite of practical AI tools, thereby achieving comprehensive efficiency gains from data processing to paper writing.
